This seminar will act as an introduction to the opportunities and pitfalls for investment consultants to become expert witnesses in the courts and arbitration. With the increasing interest and spotlight on investment, pensions and trusts there is likely to be an increased need and opportunity for well qualified expert witnesses. 
Two experienced experts will present followed by time for Q&A. At the conclusion of the formal meeting there will be drinks and the opportunity to meet and talk to senior members of The Academy. 


Grahame Goodyer  IMC MAE
Investment Consultant and Council Member, Academy of Experts

Grahame has over 36 years in investment-related financial services, is a qualified Investment Manager and also holds the PMI Certificate in Pension Trusteeship. Grahame has been acting an as expert witness for more than 15 years, having written reports for more than 215 cases and appeared in court and been cross-examined on six occasions. He has also attended and been involved with mediations.

Grahame has assisted with claims for both Claimants and Defendants in a wide range of investment related matters. Cases have been diverse in nature ranging from suitability and risk assessment to the management of investment portfolios. In addition to working as a consultant to the PIA and FSA, Grahame has written a number of published investment performance and risk-related articles and has been a co-editor of the Ansbacher Personal Wealth year book. He is also a Council Member of The Academy of Experts.

Phillippa Rowe MA FAE FCII
Chartered Insurance Practitioner

Phillippa Rowe has spent over 40 years working in international insurance and reinsurance, primarily in the areas of claim and contract wordings negotiation. She has in-depth dispute resolution experience and, in addition to acting as an expert witness, she also acts as an arbitrator, mediator and expert adviser. She has given evidence in several jurisdictions.

Phillippa is a Fellow and a Past Chairman of The Academy of Experts. She is an experienced tutor and teaches several TAE courses as well as delivering in-house training and seminar lectures in the insurance market. She writes and speaks widely on insurance and reinsurance and dispute resolution subjects.
