Understanding Law & Procedure - Mar '20

A one day course designed to give the Expert Witness a grounding in the Law and Court Procedures in England and Wales.

This course is both an essential guide for the new expert before undertaking your first appointment and a useful refresher for the more experienced practitioner.

The Expert Witness Foundation Course course is an intensive study through both the theory and more practical aspects of being an Expert Witness.

For the Expert that is about to undertake a large case this is the perfect opportunity to ‘brush up’ on little used techniques.

The course concentrates on the Expert's Report and the Role & Responsibilities of the Expert with a brief introduction into the Procedure Rules (CPR & CrPR) and preparation for going into court.

Expert Determination Training - May '20

This is a technical course which will deal with all you need to know to get started and run an Expert Determination. It is a pre-requisit for those wishing to become a TAE accredited Expert Determiner.

Simulation & Stimulation (Mediation Training - Module 5) - March '20

This is the final Module in the TAE Commercial Mediation Training Course.

This module provides a variety of situations and roles giving maximum opportunity for practical experience in a safe environment whilst under the watchful eye of an experienced mediator and tutor.

Simulations & Law (Mediation Training - Module 4) - March '20

Module 4 of the TAE Commercial Mediation Training Course.

This module is in two parts -

  • Law for Mediators
  • Simulations

Law for Mediators:

To work effectively as a mediator you will need some knowledge of law and procedure. This module gives a crash course in what you need to know. It is equally important whether you are legally qualified or not. You will learn how to use this knowledge as a Mediator working with the parties:

  • Contract & Tort – their elements in practice

Tying the Knot (Mediation Training- Module 3) - March '20

The third Module in TAE's Commercial Mediation Training Course.

Participants analyze and discuss the various skills and techniques required by the successful Mediator.

A major portion of the course is devoted to Case Studies and, by 'role play' participants develop their ability to appreciate these techniques and how to apply them in practical situations. Each Case Study is followed by a group critique to identify the strengths and weaknesses displayed and to improve individual performance and develop their skills and knowledge.

Mediator's Tutorial (Mediation Training - Module 2) - February '20

The second Module in TAE's Commercial Mediation Training Course.

This Module is intended to deal with some of the problems that occur during a mediation. It is not based upon 'role play', but consists of the analysis and discussion of situations that arise during all stages of a mediation.

In addition to being an integral part of training for the Register, it is particularly suitable for those already active as Mediators. It is open only to those who have completed at least one Mediator's Training Course or those already practising.
